Dear Valued Members,
Another two weeks have passed, and we’re excited to share the latest on our progress. It’s still loud, still dusty, and yes—very real progress continues!
DEMOLITION: PICKING UP SPEED

With the proper demolition subcontractor now in place, work is moving at a much faster pace. Our initial subcontractor was unable to fulfill the full scope of work and was terminated, but the transition has put us back on solid footing. The transition between demo subcontractors and a short mix-up at SWFMD did cause us to fall about 2 to 3 weeks behind. However, with the right teams now in place and processes working smoothly, we’re confident we can make up the time. Thanks to the Shoring Engineer’s completed assessment and detailed plan, we’ll soon begin removing exterior walls with safety as the top priority.

COMMUNICATION, TRACKING AND OVERSIGHT

Our project continues to be a true team effort. Communication with Peacock + Lewis, Curran & Young, Blueshore Engineering, Clive Daniel, and Gulf Harbour remains strong with biweekly construction meetings, and our Quality Control Manager, Milton, provides real-time daily reports to keep everything moving in sync.
Most of our project tracking is managed through Procore, a construction software platform that gives the team access to the latest plans, schedules, and shop drawings. It’s a powerful tool—though I’ll admit, not the easiest to navigate!

Another key part of coordination has been the submittal process. For those unfamiliar, submittals are detailed documents and samples that move between Curran & Young, their subcontractors, and Peacock + Lewis. Think of it this way: If looking at plans is like seeing a wall in two dimensions, submittals help bring it into three.

LOOKING AHEAD
Each week builds toward the exciting phase of reconstruction, and we remain committed to delivering this project on time and on budget.
Until next time—onward and upward!
Lonnie
