It’s a heartbreaking reality. Millions of boys and girls around the globe live in difficult circumstances and are in desperate need of hope. Whether they are slum dwellers in Calcutta or orphans in Johannesburg, children long to know that they are loved. Operation Christmas Child is one way to make a difference in a young person’s life through the simplest of gifts—shoeboxes filled with school supplies, toys, and personal items, packed by caring people.
Saturday, November 15, collectively, over 75 people met in the Baldwins’ driveway to pack over 1,350 boxes in support of this program. Many of you turned in your own loving-packed shoeboxes as well. Last year, over 12 million boxes were collected internationally and distributed to children in over 160 countries.

Thank you so much, dear friends, for caring about these children and taking the time to put together a “box of joy”—a joy and a hope that many may never have experienced. Your efforts and your friendships are priceless.
