The Gulf Harbour Builders Team began in 2024, raising over $10,000 for Habitat for Humanity through Women Build. The mission of Women Build is to engage women in the effort to provide safe and decent homes for families in need of affordable housing. By recruiting, educating,
and inspiring women, we can transform lives in our communities.
Since 2011, Women Build in Lee and Hendry Counties has built 27 affordable homes in partnership with female-led families. In 2024, 75% of families actively partnering with Habitat for Humanity to build a home were led by women, highlighting the critical need for affordable housing for women and their children.
Together we raised $534,000 last year to support the life-changing effects of homeownership for female-led households, providing them with stability and security for future generations. 2025 is the 15th year of the Women Build campaign, and we have set our goal at $600,000.
