ROGER WILLIAM MARSHALL
Roger W. Marshall, 88, of Sand Point, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 12, 2026, one day shy of his 89th birthday.
Born July 13, 1937, in Sault Ste. Marie to John William and Mabel “Mickie” (McKee) Marshall, Roger married Linda Mae Tunstall on June 16, 1962, in Troy—a partnership that spanned sixty-four years.
A graduate of Cass City High School and Michigan State University, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Phi, Roger served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1966 and was an active pilot from 1973 to 2001.
In 1964, he and his father purchased a John Deere dealership in Cass City, and in 1968 he founded Marshall Plastic Company, which grew into Marshall Distributing, Inc.—a national industry leader in aftermarket parts for snowmobiles, motorcycles, ATVs, and personal watercraft. He sold the business in 2014.
Roger was Cass City Citizen of the Year in 2001, a Paul Harris Fellow with the Rotary Club, and served on the board of Hills & Dales General Hospital. He and Linda are long-time valued members of Gulf Harbour Country Club, where they cherished friendships built over many years.
A devoted MSU Spartan fan, avid golfer, boater, storyteller, and cook, Roger loved travel, family gatherings, and time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by Linda; daughters Jeanne (Paul) Huddleston and Kathy (Greg) Sims; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
